The Power 8x12 Chalet Log Cabin 28mm delivers a properly sized garden room at a price that makes sense. At 3590mm wide with a 2490mm ridge height, it sits comfortably within permitted development limits. We fit these regularly and rate them highly for build quality and everyday practicality.

Every cabin in this range is manufactured in Britain using slow-grown Scandinavian softwood. The 28mm interlocking logs are precision machined for a tight, draught-free fit. Floor and roof boards are 19mm thick for genuine load-bearing performance. Joiner-made doors and windows are fitted with toughened double glazing as standard. The EPDM Firestone RubberCover roof carries a 50 year life span, and the whole package is backed by a 10 Year Warranty.

Scandinavian Timber Construction

Walls are formed from slow-grown Scandinavian softwood, chosen for its tight grain and long-term stability. Tongue and groove boards make up both the floor and roof decks. The 58x44mm pressure treated bearers lift the cabin clear of the ground, protecting the floor from moisture ingress. The 145mm thick roof purlins provide the structural backbone for the overhead load. This is a building you can fit once and rely on for years.

Delivery is on an 26t HIAB vehicle, using a crane which is positioned on the vehicle, behind the cab. If there are any access restrictions for a vehicle of this size, please inform us as soon as possible. Delivery is classed as Kerbside only depending on access. If Power are unable to deliver a log cabin due to access issues not advised or if the customer is not in when they attempt to deliver, re-delivery charges may apply

Do I need Planning Permission?

All of our log cabins are under 2.5m to the ridge, meaning that you can bypass most planning permission restrictions that may apply to residential builds. There are extra deep 145mm roof purlins to ensure that the strength and rigidity of the cabin aren\'t compromised by the reduced height. For all information regarding planning, please consult your local planning office.

Are our Log cabins Treated?

The log cabins come completely untreated, except the pressure-treated floor bearers. The extremely precise machining of the logs, which is required to ensure the perfect fit, requires the building to be treated after assembly rather than before. Treating the logs before you install the cabin may result in the components not fitting correctly as it can cause the timber to expand. Some components are okay to treat prior to installation, such as the pressure-treated bearers, floor, and roof boards. In fact, there are some areas that will be much harder to treat annually, so try to get a few coats on prior to assembly to ensure the longevity of your building.
