Product Details

The Power 8x12 Chalet Log Cabin 28mm delivers a genuinely usable garden space at a sensible price point. At 3590mm wide with a 2490mm ridge height, it fits most gardens without triggering planning consent. Use it as a home office, gym, or retreat. Every component is chosen by installers who know what holds up over years of use.

Each wall log is 28mm thick, precision-machined from slow-grown Scandinavian softwood for a tight interlock and clean finish. Floor and roof boards measure 19mm thick, giving firm underfoot feel and reliable load capacity. The 58x44mm pressure treated bearers sit beneath the floor, lifting the structure clear of ground moisture. Joiner-made doors and windows are fitted with toughened double glazing throughout. The EPDM Firestone RubberCover roof membrane carries a 50 year life span. A 10 Year Warranty backs the entire package.

Scandinavian Softwood Walls

Slow-grown Scandinavian softwood is denser and tighter-grained than fast-grown alternatives. That density translates directly into wall strength and thermal performance. The 145mm roof purlins handle significant snow and wind loads without flex. Tongue and groove boarding is used across both the floor and roof deck. The 58x44mm bearers are pressure treated to resist ground contact and moisture ingress over time.

FSC Timber and Community Commitment

Every piece of timber in this cabin comes from FSC-certified sources. Our suppliers hold their own FSC certification, meaning the chain of custody is verified at every stage. Responsible forestry protects the long-term supply of quality softwood. Beyond timber sourcing, we actively contribute to local charity and community projects. Looking after both the environment and the people around us matters to how we operate.

Do I need Planning Permission?

All of our log cabins are under 2.5m to the ridge, meaning that you can bypass most planning permission restrictions that may apply to residential builds. There are extra deep 145mm roof purlins to ensure that the strength and rigidity of the cabin aren\'t compromised by the reduced height. For all information regarding planning, please consult your local planning office.

Are our Log cabins Treated?

The log cabins come completely untreated, except the pressure-treated floor bearers. The extremely precise machining of the logs, which is required to ensure the perfect fit, requires the building to be treated after assembly rather than before. Treating the logs before you install the cabin may result in the components not fitting correctly as it can cause the timber to expand. Some components are okay to treat prior to installation, such as the pressure-treated bearers, floor, and roof boards. In fact, there are some areas that will be much harder to treat annually, so try to get a few coats on prior to assembly to ensure the longevity of your building.
